In what was a very one-sided affair, Sloboden dominated Vardar 75 in Usje to win 11-1. This marks FK Sloboden’s biggest competitive win in their history, beating the Robin’s previous record of 9-0 against the Usje based club.
FIRST HALF
The first half saw Sloboden get a grip of the pitch, as the uncomfortable field made it difficult to settle in. Eventually though, A cross from Georgiev would find the head of Nikola Minovski to take the early lead.
The Vardar defense would then fumble a simple goal kick, as the misplaced pass ended up in Gjorgji Malov‘s feet who would score for 2-0. Almost immediately after that, Viktor Vesov would shoot a beautifully curled shot that would find its way into the net to make it 3-0.
If comparisons to Brazil vs. Germany weren’t being made yet, Malov would then slot in his second and third of the match in a matter of a few minutes. Redjep Bislim would cap off the half with a goal of his own to end the first half at 6-0.
SECOND HALF
The second half began much the same way as the first had ended, with Sloboden having both of their hands on this match. As if the day couldn’t get much worse for the hosts, their goalkeeper would see himself sent off after shouting several profanities towards the referee.
The resulting free kick would see substitute Petar Petrushevski cannon his shot into the back of the net, taking the score up to 7-0. Only a few minutes later Minovski would take it up the pitch to get his second, and then Malov would follow it up to get his hands on a poker.
More unconvincing defending would see Petrushevski and Bislim grab their second goals each. However, with only a few minutes left on the clock, Vardar 75 would snatch a goal after a mix up in the Sloboden back line.
Was the great comeback on? Could the boys from Usje do the unthinkable? Well unfortunately, by the time they had scored their goal, the referee had seen enough and called for full time. We had been robbed of a fairy tale comeback.
Overall a phenomenal performance by the Robins, who would crown Gjorgji Malov as their man of the match once more. Up next on the schedule, Slavija!
